Cabrini Foundation

Established in 1996, the Cabrini Institute supports a wide range of education and research activities across Cabrini.  Senior medical staff and researchers oversee a diverse research program, as well as developments in clinical education.  The research program includes allied health, arthritis, back pain, cancer, care of the elderly, health literacy, medicine, nursing, palliative care, patient safety, psycho-oncology and surgery.  The Cabrini Institute plays a significant role in the education of Cabrini’s current and future health professionals.

Cabrini Institute

The scholarships program aims to support Cabrini employees from various clinical disciplines in their desire to pursue professional development, research and knowledge gathering activities. Such activities include conference attendance, workshops, visits to centres of excellence and postgraduate study that will ultimately improve patient care at Cabrini.

Cabrini Institute introduced an annual grant funding round in 2015 with support from the Cabrini Foundation. The aim of this process was to provide a single, centralised mechanism for accessing funds from the Foundation for research and quality improvement activities. Cabrini Institute encourages innovative research projects and collaborative studies that align with its research themes, Cabrini’s Renew Health Strategy and fosters the sharing of skills and expertise.

Cabrini Institute is committed to supporting activities that:

  • Facilitate a research culture across the organisation that produces high quality clinical research;
  • Encourage multidisciplinary research;
  • Encourage research partnerships with external organisations; and
  • Contribute to quality and safety in healthcare.

Visit our Resources (Grants) page for assistance in determining whether your project is research or quality improvement.
